Computing Pack (Ages 5–11)

£11.99

Introduce coding concepts without screens using the STEM Charades Computing Pack. Pupils act, explain, and guess computing ideas through movement and talk, making abstract concepts like algorithms and debugging fun and accessible. Designed for KS1–KS2, it’s perfect for lessons, clubs, or home learning, helping children build confidence in computational thinking and STEM communication.

At a glance

• Screen‑free and quick to set up

• KS1–KS2 (ages 5–11) classrooms, clubs, and home learning

• Builds confident computing talk and collaborative problem‑solving

• Covers coding concepts, algorithms, and computational thinking

What’s inside

• 30 Computing topic cards (covering algorithms, debugging, coding language, and more)

• Teacher prompts for quick checks of learning

• Note: Spinner not included (available in the Starter Box or DIY with a pad/dice)

FAQs

How long does a session take?

5–15 minutes for a starter; 20–30 minutes for a full session.

Which computing topics are included?

Algorithms, debugging, coding language, and computational thinking — all linked to KS1–KS2 computing outcomes.

Do I need the Starter Box to use this pack?

The Computing Pack works on its own, but for the full experience (spinner + DIY pad), start with the Starter Box.

Is it suitable for beginners?

Yes. The cards introduce computing ideas in simple, screen‑free ways, making them accessible even if pupils have never coded before.

Backed by research

STEM Charades is based on embodied learning research showing that movement and gesture help children understand and remember concepts. Developed through the Move2Learn project, an international collaboration between the University of Edinburgh, the University of Illinois, and partners in the UK and US
